- PROCLAMATION - HUEY TLAHTOANI XUCHIMATZATZIN
The Councils of Elders of the Aztec tribes, in their eternal wisdom, see the need for a strong and mighty leader to guide the Aztec people to greatness. One to govern them all, a Supreme Ruler. One to lead the warriors into battle. Therefore, the Councils of Elders of the Aztec tribes hereby recognize Xuchimatzatzin as Huey Tlahtoani of the Aztec Tlahtocayotl.
Huey Tlahtoani Xuchimatzatzin, as a direct descendant of the great god, Quetzalcoatl, rules over the Aztec people. As sovereign ruler, the Huey Tlahtoani has the power to make laws/edicts, outlaw people, clans and tribes, pardon people, and declare war. His authority supersedes that of the Elders and Chiefs.
The Huey Tlahtoani will lead our warriors into battle as the Tlacatecuhtli of the Aztec Tlahtocayotl Army. All tribes and clans must send warriors when the Tlahtocayotl goes to war.
Xuchimatzatzin and his descendants will rule the Aztec Tlahtocayotl as Huey Tlahtoani for all eternity. The Huey Tlahtoani can name his successor at any time, to be Huey Tlahtoani after he passes to the next world, or to be Huey Tlahtoani directly. He can also appoint a regent to rule in his name for any duration of time and transfer/share any or more powers for any duration of time to/with another person or persons. Which can be revoked by the Huey Tlahtoani at any time.
Furthermore, it is the duty of every Aztec to protect the Huey Tlahtoani at all costs. Failure to act in his defense is seen as treason, no different than a blatant attempt on the life of the Huey Tlahtoani. As such, the punishment for either offense shall be death.
The Huey Tlahtoani enjoys full immunity from prosecution.
Once the Council of a tribe signs this proclamation, the tribe cannot cancel the recognition in any way.
Not a word in this proclamation may be changed without the Huey Tlahtoani's express consent.
No tribe or clan may in any way remove a Huey Tlahtoani from his position as Huey Tlahtoani nor take or diminish any power of the Huey Tlahtoani.
Signed, the 19th of February,
[i]Tepeyacac Council of Elders | |
